Inpatient Certified Procedural Coding Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Inpatient Certified Procedural Coding Specialist is responsible for reading and interpreting health record documentation to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures for inpatient encounters.

Requirements

• HS/GED with relevant coding certifications (CCA, CCS, CPC, RHIT, RHIA).
• Must have current CPC, CCS, RHIA or RHIT certification.
• Self-directed with critical thinking skills.
• Inpatient coding experience preferred.
• Degree in Health Information Management or related field is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience in an acute care facility is an advantage.
• Must obtain CCS certification within 12 months of hire.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding.
• Excellent communication skills.
