Overview

The Certified Procedural Coding Specialist position involves reading and interpreting health record documentation to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures for outpatient encounters.

In Short

• Work remotely under supervision
• Interpret health record documentation
• Assign accurate codes to diagnoses and procedures
• Maintain understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
• Perform data charge entry for outpatient clinic visits
• Organize and prioritize work queues daily
• Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma and coding certifications
• Preferred qualifications include an Associate's or Bachelor's in Health Information Management
• Two years of coding experience preferred

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding
• Certification (CCA, CCS, CPC, RHIT or RHIA)
• Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's in Health Information Management
• Preferred: Two years of coding experience
