Certified Procedural Coding Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Certified Procedural Coding Specialist position involves reading and interpreting health record documentation to accurately assign codes to diagnoses and procedures affecting outpatient encounters.

In Short

• Work remotely under supervision
• Read and interpret health record documentation
• Identify diagnoses and procedures for outpatient visits
• Maintain understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
• Perform data charge entry for hospital and physician systems
• Organize work queues for daily review and prioritization
• Minimum qualification of a High School Diploma or GED
• Certifications required: CCA, CCS, CPC, RHIT or RHIA
• Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's in Health Information Management
• Two years of coding experience preferred

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding
• One of the following certifications: CCA, CCS, CPC, RHIT or RHIA
• Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's in Health Information Management
• Two years of coding experience
