Inpatient Certified Procedural Coding Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Inpatient Certified Procedural Coding Specialist is responsible for reading and interpreting health record documentation to assign appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes for inpatient encounters while ensuring documentation supports all diagnoses and procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• One coding certification required, CCS within 12 months of hire.
• Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's in Health Information Management.
• Two years of coding experience preferred.
• Proficient in anatomy, physiology, and clinical terminology.
• Ability to assess health record documentation adequacy.
• Strong organizational skills to manage work queues.
• Experience with data charge entries is a plus.
• Must have legal authority to work in the U.S.
