Overview

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking an Executive Director of Development for Planned Giving and Compliance to lead the planned giving function and secure major gifts that support its mission in education, patient care, and research.

In Short

  • Lead planned giving and compliance for Institutional Advancement.
  • Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time to meet with donors.
  • Collaborate with other gift officers on strategies.
  • Utilize CRM systems for donor management.
  • Exceed annual fundraising metrics.
  • Foster a positive and innovative culture.
  • Engage with community and professional activities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
  • Seven years of fundraising or related experience.
  • Proven success in closing major gifts.
  • Experience in higher education campaigns preferred.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage sophisticated donors.
  • Familiarity with planned giving strategies.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and FERPA laws.
  • Master’s degree or Juris Doctor preferred.
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) is a plus.
