Overview

The Director of Development is a key leader responsible for managing relationships with donors and overseeing fundraising strategies to support the mission of Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas.

In Short

  • Lead the development team in fundraising activities.
  • Manage a portfolio of individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
  • Set and meet revenue goals for fundraising.
  • Implement moves management system using Salesforce.
  • Support the Senior Development Manager in fundraising strategies.
  • Engage with donors through meaningful contacts each month.
  • Collaborate with national corporate partners and local teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of donor interactions.
  • Champion the organization’s mission at community events.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of fundraising experience.
  • Passion for the mission of Make-A-Wish.
  • Experience in managing major and corporate fundraising.
  • Knowledge of effective fundraising techniques.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce or comparable CRM.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must have reliable transportation for travel.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
