UndauntedK12 seeks a Director, State and Local Engagement who will lead and support the organization’s efforts to shape and influence state and local policy and implementation to advance our mission.

In Short

Lead efforts to influence state and local policy for climate action in K-12 schools.
Collaborate with partners to develop and implement supportive policies and programs.
Build relationships with stakeholders at various levels to advance organizational goals.
Support local education leaders in advocating for climate action.
Conduct research and analysis to inform policy development.
Manage and contribute to strategic projects and initiatives.
Represent the organization in various coalitions and workgroups.
Prepare communications and materials for supporters and networks.
Lead virtual and in-person events to advance objectives.
Provide subject-matter expertise and thought leadership.

Requirements

Experience in public policy development and implementation.
In-depth knowledge of climate, environmental justice, or related fields.
Strong relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Experience in grassroots organizing and advocacy.
Research and analytical skills to inform policy initiatives.
Entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative mindset.
Experience in managing staff or contractors.
