Executive Underwriting Manager - Remote

Overview

As the Executive Underwriting Manager, you will manage a team of Underwriter Managers, and potentially some Underwriters. Hold a full suite of management responsibilities for the team: attraction, development, pay and performance management, and communication of underwriting strategy. Manage a significant budget, and monitor how well managers within the team are delivering leadership responsibilities. You will contribute to planning and strategy development for the business area owned by manager.

Requirements

• Degree in Business or equivalent typically required.
• A minimum of 10 years progressive underwriting experience expected.
• CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred.
• Proven analytical ability to evaluate high impact underwriting risks.
• Expert-level ability to communicate complex analyses.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Strong leadership skills and development of people.
• Strategic thinking and sustained effective portfolio management.
