As Hometap’s Underwriting Manager, you’ll be a key part of the team that makes investments here at Hometap – helping to fulfill the mission of making home ownership less stressful and more accessible.

In Short

• Oversee the operations and management of the Underwriting team.
• Manage productivity targets and ensure adherence to guidelines.
• Evaluate applicant information and risk against underwriting criteria.
• Function as the first point of contact for eligibility escalations.
• Identify and mitigate underwriting risks.
• Coach and develop Underwriters.
• Participate in recruiting and succession planning activities.
• Adapt to changing circumstances and propose actionable plans.
• Work cross-functionally with various teams.
• Ensure team members adhere to investor guidelines.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in Underwriting within the residential finance industry.
• 2+ years experience managing a production-based team.
• Extraordinary attention to detail and strong proofreading skills.
• Ability to think critically and make decisions in nuanced areas.
• Comfortable working with leaders in legal and compliance.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
• Experience in motivating and developing a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong client service skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related field.
