Overview

The Patient and Community Liaison (PCL) plays a vital role in engaging with the Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) community, providing education and building relationships with patients, caregivers, and advocacy partners. This position is primarily remote but requires significant travel across the western United States.

In Short

• Engage with SMA community at live events.
• Deliver education about SMA and gene therapy.

• Travel 50-70% of the time, primarily on weekends.
• Document interactions to improve educational programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in patient education or healthcare roles.
• Experience in gene therapy and rare diseases.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to present complex information clearly.
• Experience with regulatory compliance in healthcare.
• Proficiency in virtual education tools.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Ability to travel extensively.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
