Insurance Counselor I - Remote

Overview

This vital, patient-centered role provides education and guidance to DaVita patients about health insurance and the implications of different insurance options.

In Short

• Provide education and guidance on health insurance options to patients.
• Help alleviate stress for dialysis patients navigating insurance options.
• Conduct patient insurance education and assessments.
• Build trust and rapport with patients and teammates.
• Travel to DaVita clinics to provide in-person support.
• Document patient education sessions accurately.
• Act as a liaison between patients and facility staff.
• Participate in monthly operations reviews and reporting.
• Seek opportunities for process improvement.
• Support onboarding and training of new teammates.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance.
• Experience in a healthcare organization preferred.
• Intermediate computer skills required.
• Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Full vaccination against COVID-19 or medical/religious exemption required.
• Ability to squat, walk, and stand for more than 15 minutes.
• Ability to handle the sight of blood.
