Overview

The AVP - Complex Claim Specialist will manage the company's most severe and complex claims, ensuring quality claim handling and superior customer service while engaging in indemnity and expense management.

In Short

• Investigate and resolve complex claims with coverage of $2 million or greater.
• Provide quality customer service and timely coverage analysis.
• Engage in negotiation and resolution of claims.
• Mentor and coach less experienced claim professionals.
• Collaborate with field severity units for effective claim management.
• Ensure compliance with company claim policies and standards.
• Participate in legal proceedings as needed.
• Track and control legal expenses for cost-effective resolutions.
• Utilize technology to enhance claim management efficiency.
• Maintain strong communication with stakeholders throughout the claim process.

Requirements

• 5-10 years experience handling serious injury and complex liability claims.
• Proficiency in oral and written communications.
• Thorough understanding of product lines and legal theory issues.
• Experience with commercial lines/personal lines products.
• Ability to analyze complex coverage and liability issues.
• Expert communication skills to convey complex data.
• Ability to make independent decisions up to $1,000,000.
• High School Degree or GED required.
• Insurance License(s) may be required.
• Experience in bodily injury litigation claim handling preferred.
