Overview

You play a central role in the further development of our cloud environment with a focus on FinOps and Observability. Your goal: Ensure transparency and cost control in our AWS and Azure platforms while optimizing monitoring & logging with Datadog. You work independently, but not in isolation – collaboration in the team is essential. With clear processes and best practices, you set new standards for our FinOps and Observability setup.

In Short

  • You develop and optimize our FinOps strategy focusing on cloud cost control, tagging strategies, dashboards, and reporting.
  • You drive the further development of the Datadog platform as a central monitoring and observability solution.
  • You automate and optimize monitoring processes as well as the integration of new features and best practices.
  • You create and maintain standards for cost control and observability and support other teams through enablement.
  • You work closely with development teams to understand and best implement requirements for the monitoring platform.
  • You identify cost and optimization potentials in our cloud environments and support developer teams in their independent implementation.
  • You participate in the further development of our cloud platform and support cross-functional technical initiatives.

Requirements

  • You have solid experience in cloud engineering with a focus on FinOps and Observability.
  • You possess a deep understanding of the implementation, optimization, and management of AWS and Azure cloud environments.
  • You bring experience with Terraform as an Infrastructure-as-Code tool.
  • You master Datadog as the primary monitoring tool – alternatively, you have experience with comparable solutions like Elastic or OpenTelemetry.
  • You are familiar with FinOps practices for optimizing cloud costs and resource management.
  • You have scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for process automation (desirable).
  • You work independently and proactively, recognize technical challenges, and develop solutions.
  • You communicate confidently and enjoy collaborating with various teams and stakeholders.
