Legal Director - Remote

Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Legal Director to lead TiDB’s legal function worldwide. You will oversee commercial, compliance, and product-embedded legal strategies that enable TiDB to scale across North America, EMEA, and APAC.

In Short

• Lead negotiations for complex global SaaS and infrastructure deals (> $1M).
• Manage compliance requirements across U.S., EU, and APAC.
• Negotiate cloud hyperscaler agreements.
• Structure open-core monetization models.
• Apply commercial expertise across U.S., EMEA, and APAC.
• Enhance customer trust and reduce sales contract cycles.
• Provide legal insights on competitive landscapes.
• Partner with Product to co-design data product terms.
• Lead distributed legal teams across time zones.
• Resolve multi-jurisdictional incidents and risks.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive legal experience.
• Proven track record negotiating high-value SaaS contracts.
• Deep knowledge of global compliance frameworks.
• Experience managing distributed legal teams.
• Strong commercial acumen.
• Crisis management expertise.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Active Bar membership.
