Overview

The Ryan Family Student Center at Penn State University Park is looking for a motivated Academic Advising Manager to lead the college's advising program and enhance student success.

In Short

• Lead the academic advising program for the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences.
• Collaborate with faculty and advisers to ensure consistent advising practices.
• Provide administrative oversight of advising operations.
• Direct the creation and dissemination of academic information.
• Manage crisis situations and complex advising issues.
• Facilitate professional development for advising staff.
• Support student engagement and success initiatives.
• Analyze advising effectiveness and recommend improvements.
• Serve as Dean's Proxy for academic decisions.
• Provide advising services to students, including those in academic difficulty.

Requirements

• Master's Degree required.
• 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership and crisis management skills.
• Ability to analyze data and recommend policy changes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience in academic advising is preferred.
• Familiarity with university policies and procedures.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusion in education.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. required.
• Background checks are mandatory.
