Technical Writer - Remote

Overview

thatgamecompany is looking for a Technical Writer to develop documentation for our in-house tools that are used to support our flagship title Sky: Children of the Light. This role is vital in enhancing our product user experience by creating high-quality documentation and in-app help content.

In Short

• Write, edit, and maintain user-facing documentation including user guides, how-tos, FAQs, and release notes.
• Develop concise, intuitive in-app help and tooltips that support users at the point of need.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and validate technical information.
• Ensure content is consistent in tone, style, and formatting across the product and documentation.
• Organize and structure content to make it easy to search, navigate, and consume.
• Participate in product testing and documentation reviews to ensure accuracy and usability.
• Update and revise content in line with product changes and user feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in technical writing or similar role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex concepts in clear, simple language.
• Familiarity with SaaS products and general software development terminology.
• Experience writing for a SaaS application or working in a software development environment.
• Basic understanding of documentation tools such as Google Docs, Confluence, or similar.
• Strong attention to detail and a user-focused mindset.
