We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Principal Scientist to join our team at Tempus, focusing on precision medicine and advancing the healthcare industry through AI and real-world evidence.

In Short

• Lead early-stage assay and device technology feasibility initiatives.
• Drive early development to enable assets in Tempus's product portfolio.
• Focus on technical evaluations and development of molecular chemistries.
• Interface with bioinformatics and data teams for AI application development.
• Contribute to multiomic technology evaluations in various life science areas.
• Support bespoke research contracts with Pharma and Biotech customers.
• Mentor and advise scientific staff.
• Collaborate with diverse scientific and operational teams.
• Design and execute complex experiments.
• Communicate feasibility outcomes effectively.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in a relevant scientific role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Expertise in NGS-related technologies and applications.
• Knowledge of multiomics, proteomics, and metabolomics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Experience mentoring scientific staff.
