Software Design Engineer - Remote

Overview

We have an opening for a Software Design Engineer on our Developer Productivity Team focused on internal developer tools, observability, and release engineering.

In Short

• Participate in the end-to-end Product Development Lifecycle.
• Formulate feature designs and iterate with stakeholders.
• Provide test coverage for unit, integration, and performance.
• Document design choices and operational knowledge.
• Set a high bar for technical excellence.
• Investigate issues methodically to identify root causes.
• Understand performance and reliability implications.
• Participate in on-call rotation.
• Collaborate in design reviews and share design principles.

Requirements

• User-first mindset and eagerness to automate.
• Experience developing internal tools and automations.
• Strong opinions about tools balanced by pragmatic drive.
• Ability to work self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Expert in one or more high-level programming languages, preferably Go.
• Hands-on experience with cloud providers, preferably AWS.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with web application development frameworks.
• Strong command of Git and understanding of design patterns.
