Payroll & Accounting Specialist - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join the quickly growing Tely Team. This is a key role supporting our Finance and HR functions to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in a dynamic, fast-paced start-up environment.

In Short

• Process bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls for a multi-state employee base.
• Calculate and record payroll related journal entries in QuickBooks.
• Review and validate approved timecards and employee reimbursements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain employee payroll records and ensure updates are processed accurately.
• Assist third-party tax firm with payroll tax filings.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports for leadership.
• Assist HR in maintaining compliance with wage and hour laws.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-growth company environment.
• Support a seamless payroll process with attention to detail.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 3–7 years of payroll processing experience in a multi-state environment.
• Experience with Paylocity is preferred.
• General understanding of US GAAP or IFRS accounting is a plus.
• Strong understanding of payroll best practices and compliance fundamentals.
