Accounting Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF) is looking for a passionate Accounting Specialist to process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies. This role supports various accounting functions and is essential to the financial operations of the nonprofit organization.

In Short

• Process accounts receivable and payable transactions.
• Prepare daily deposits and cash status reports.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Compile and analyze financial information.
• Maintain filing and documentation systems.
• Review financial entries for errors and inconsistencies.
• Provide administrative support to the finance department.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Ensure compliance with DSF policies and procedures.
• Serve as a backup to the Accountant.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Teams.
• Familiarity with accounting software like Sage Intacct is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Associate’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
