Overview

The Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of medical records, contributing to the overall quality of patient care and compliance with regulations.

In Short

  • Input data into CDI software accurately.
  • Educate team members on documentation regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation.

  • Complete timely follow-up case reviews.
  • Utilize critical thinking in decision-making.
  • Formulate CDI severity worksheets.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical team members.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Nursing or higher in a healthcare-related field.
  • 3+ years of recent CDI experience.
  • 5+ years of acute care nursing experience.
  • Experience in outpatient clinical documentation reviews preferred.
  • Licenses: CCDS or CDIP required.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to educate and communicate effectively.
  • Experience with report development preferred.
  • Additional education and experience combinations may be considered.
  • Commitment to compliance and quality in documentation.
