Senior Accountant LATAM - Remote

Overview

The Senior Accountant LATAM will support Tala's operations across Latin America, ensuring accurate accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting for regional entities.

In Short

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes for multiple LATAM entities.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Coordinate tax compliance with local tax advisors.
• Oversee payroll accounting and compliance with labor obligations.
• Support audits and assist with group-level reporting.
• Partner with global accounting and tax teams for consistency.
• Improve internal controls and accounting workflows.
• Act as point of contact for regional accounting matters.
• Leverage NetSuite Oracle for accounting operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in LATAM.
• Strong knowledge of local accounting and tax regulations in LATAM.
• Experience with tax compliance and supporting audits.
• Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with NetSuite Oracle.
• Fluent English for collaboration with global teams.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment.
• Prior experience in a Big 4 accounting firm is a plus.
• Experience in fintech or regulated financial institutions is a plus.
