Senior Accountant - Remote

Wealthsimple is on a mission to help everyone achieve financial freedom by reimagining what it means to manage your money. We’re looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team, crucial for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our month-end close process.

In Short

• Own the monthly close process and support financial & regulatory reporting.
• Act as subject matter expert on complex accounting issues.
• Prepare variance analyses and commentary on financial results.
• Perform complex analysis with financial & regulatory implications.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation.
• Support new initiatives and product launches.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in year-end audits and prepare supporting workpapers.
• Assist with ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of full cycle accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA designation or equivalent experience.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems like Oracle and NetSuite.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Work experience in a CIRO member firm (asset).
• Canadian Securities Course completion (asset).
