Takealot.com, South Africa’s leading online retailer, is looking for a highly talented Software Engineer (Analytics) to join our team.

In Short

• Work closely with stakeholders, Data Engineers and BI Analysts to turn data into critical information.
• Responsible for the full life-cycle development of the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
• Design and implement reporting and analytical solutions.
• Help maintain our Kappa & Lambda event-driven architecture.
• Provide operational support, bug fixes, and performance enhancements.
• Automate data extraction and report update processes.
• Data validation and integrity testing.
• Optimisation of data models.
• Experience with BI reporting tools.
• Focus on customer-centric solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Information Systems or related field.
• 3-6 years experience in a software/technology environment.
• 1-2 years coding experience in Python and JavaScript.
• Minimum 4 years SQL experience.
• Experience with Looker, BigQuery, and Dataform is advantageous.
• Familiar with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Github Actions.
• Experience with Google Cloud or another cloud provider.
• Experience working in Scrum and Sprint Agile methodologies is advantageous.
• Retail or e-commerce industry experience beneficial.
