Smart Hands Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Smart Hands Specialist is responsible for the physical installation and de-installation of IT equipment, network cabling, and providing remote hands support in a data center environment.

In Short

• Perform power cycles and inspections of IT equipment.
• Install and upgrade IT hardware components as directed.
• Install, test, and troubleshoot IT cabling.
• Label and organize IT cables according to standards.
• Provide smart hands support including server reboots and OS updates.
• Track inventory and maintain records of equipment.
• Escort and monitor contractors in the data hall.
• Adhere to safety laws and corporate policies.
• Respond to Break/Fix incidents and resolve issues.
• Complete patching and de-patching requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in IT.
• 2+ years of experience with data center IT hardware.
• Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure and technologies.
• Experience with Fluke handheld Network Analyzers.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Able to follow instructions and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proficient in using hand tools and power tools.
• Exceptional listening skills and empathy towards customer needs.
