Property Accountant - Remote

Overview

The Property Accountant is responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements on assigned projects, working closely with property managers to complete reporting packages sent to clients.

• Responsible for preparing monthly financial statements (cash and accrual).
• Work closely with property managers for reporting packages.
• Provide internal and external reporting of financial results.
• Support budgeting process and expense reconciliation.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc analysis and reports.
• Ensure excellent customer service internally and externally.
• Prepare monthly financial statement packages including journal entries.
• Perform bank statement reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analyze financial performance with property management.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of accounting/reporting experience.
• Demonstrated quantitative analytical and accounting skills.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles.
• Intermediate competence in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Knowledge of accounting software (Yardi and/or MRI is a plus).
• Experience in the real estate industry is a plus.
• Ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of self-motivation and ability to multi-task.
• Initiative in solving problems and presenting solutions.
