Data Scientist - Remote

Overview

Step is looking for an experienced Data Scientist to build and deploy Machine Learning models for all things Risk and Fraud.

In Short

• Build and Deploy ML Models: Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models to enhance Risk and Fraud detection systems.
• Lead Technical Efforts: Provide technical direction and help shape team’s strategy in the Risk/Fraud area.
• Data Manipulation: Use SQL to efficiently fetch, transform, and manipulate data for model development.
• Code Development: Write production-grade code to deliver robust machine learning solutions.
• Design Experiments: Apply statistics to guide experiments and evaluate model performance.
• Cross-Function Partnership: Partner with Operations Team to respond to rapidly evolving events.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in Data Science or ML Engineering.
• A graduate degree in statistics, economics, applied mathematics, computer science, physical sciences, or a similar technical field.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent data analysis skills.
• Experience developing and deploying machine learning models.
• Experience in financial systems, including lending or risk/fraud is a plus.
