Overview

The Health Literacy Project Specialist is responsible for facilitating the strategic planning, development, implementation, and operational assessment of patient/family education and quality improvement activities.

In Short

  • Facilitates strategic planning and development of patient education initiatives.
  • Implements operational assessments of clinical quality assurance activities.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement based on regulatory requirements.
  • Gathers and analyzes clinical and financial information.
  • Participates in quality studies and evaluations.
  • Collaborates with various departments across the organization.
  • Develops and implements department policies and procedures.
  • Assists in developing strategic initiatives for patient education.
  • Complies with Joint Commission Requirements.
  • Maintains adherence to safety and quality programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, health education, nursing, or related field.
  • Three years of relevant work experience in patient education or project management.
  • Certification in Project Management required within two years of hire.
  • Knowledge of project management processes and systems.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Skills in change management and decision-making.
  • Ability to present information effectively to various audiences.
