Junior Staff Accountant - Remote

Overview

The Jr. Staff Accountant will help the accounting team with day-to-day financial tasks, focusing on general ledger and accrual accounting. This role includes preparing journal entries, assisting with financial reports, and keeping records accurate and up to date.

In Short

• Update and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare journal entries and accruals for monthly and yearly closings.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and supporting schedules.
• Help with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
• Track and record fixed assets and depreciation.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation.
• Ensure all accounting records follow company policies and accounting standards.
• Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1 to 3 years of accounting experience, especially in general ledger and accrual accounting.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data organization).
• Experience using ERP systems (any type; Zoho preferred).
• Good understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
