US Tax Preparer - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our growing team. This is a fully remote position reporting directly to a Tax Senior based in our New York office.

In Short

• Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Manage the tax return process from document collection through draft completion.
• Communicate directly with clients to clarify open items and resolve issues.
• Ensure returns are complete and ready for review.
• Assist with extensions, projections, and year-round tax matters.
• Work with a variety of operating businesses across different industries.
• Support the team throughout the year, not just during tax season.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote setting.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a U.S. public accounting firm.
• Strong experience preparing both individual and business tax returns.
• Familiarity with U.S. tax preparation software and document management systems.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable communicating directly with clients.
• Detail-oriented but efficient.
