Lead Employment Counsel - Remote

Overview

At Sonos, we are seeking an experienced Lead Employment Counsel to provide legal counsel and strategic advice on all aspects of employment law for our fast-paced, global company. This remote position allows flexibility to work from a US-based office or remotely from the east coast time zone.

In Short

• Provide legal advice on global employment law and compliance.
• Manage employment-related risks and support business initiatives.
• Develop and maintain global employment policies and contracts.
• Conduct internal investigations and support employee relations.
• Advise on federal and state employment laws and compliance needs.
• Deliver training programs for the People Team on legal matters.
• Collaborate with corporate legal teams on compliance processes.
• Oversee employment-related litigation and claims management.
• Stay updated on global labor laws and regulations.
• Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in employment law as in-house counsel or at a law firm.
• J.D. degree and membership in a state bar.
• Deep understanding of federal employment laws and regulations.
• Experience with HR matters including employee benefits and compensation.
• Ability to work across multiple time zones and with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong decision-making skills in ambiguous situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage internal and external counsel effectively.
• Familiarity with diversity and inclusion legal frameworks.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
