Vice President of Technology - Remote

Overview

As the Vice President of Technology at sofatutor, you will lead and further develop our technology team, taking responsibility for the strategic direction of the department in collaboration with your team and management.

In Short

• Overall responsibility for all technology topics at sofatutor
• Leading and developing a tech department with approximately 40 employees
• Development and implementation of the tech strategy in close collaboration with management
• Shared responsibility for the Learning Products Teams (Tech, Product, Content)
• Establishment of a stable, scalable, and AI-supported delivery process
• Hands-on sparring for your leadership team and active development of Engineering Managers

Requirements

• Several years of leadership experience in comparable tech structures
• Proven experience in scaling technical organizations focused on user-oriented web products
• Technical understanding, ideally with a background as a developer
• Experience with modern tech stacks (ideally Ruby, Rails, React, AWS)
• High interest in AI tools and their integration into product development
• Strong team focus, clear communication skills, and a pragmatic leadership style
• Fluent in German (at least C1) and English as a working language in the tech team
