Associate Counsel, Merchants & Payments - Remote

Overview

As an Associate Counsel at Soda Health, you will be a key member of the legal team, supporting enterprise-wide commercial and product initiatives in the healthcare and fintech sectors.

In Short

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to negotiate and close deals.
• Draft and negotiate various legal documents, including agreements and contracts.
• Provide product counseling and risk assessments for new offerings.
• Work closely with business functions to offer guidance on internal operations.
• Coordinate with external counsel and service providers.
• Monitor laws and regulatory trends impacting the industry.
• Support legal/compliance processes and develop new procedures.

Requirements

• JD from an ABA accredited law school and admission to at least one state bar.
• 5+ years of relevant legal experience in a reputable firm or in-house.
• Experience leading commercial transactions and advising on product development.
• Ability to build and improve legal processes using technology.
• Strong problem-solving skills and good judgment.
• Agility to adapt to new tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred experience with regulatory/compliance and payment card industry regulations.
