Associate Counsel - Remote

Overview

GEICO is looking to hire an Associate Counsel to defend lawsuits filed in California courts and other first party insurance defense.

In Short

• Defend lawsuits in California courts.
• Research laws and prepare legal briefs.
• Render opinions on liability and damages.
• Prepare and handle pleadings and motions.
• Conduct depositions and examinations before trial.
• Defend all assigned matters by trial or hearing.
• 2-6+ years of litigation experience required.
• Juris Doctor degree and California Bar admission required.
• Ability to travel for trials and meetings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.

Requirements

• Experience in insurance defense or personal injury litigation.
• Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in California.
• Ability to document files clearly and concisely.
• Ability to follow complex instructions.
• Strong multi-tasking skills.
• Preferred civil litigation experience.
• Professional communication skills required.
