Associate Counsel - Remote

Overview

As an Associate Counsel at GEICO, you will be responsible for defending lawsuits in New York courts and providing legal guidance related to insurance defense.

In Short

• Defend lawsuits filed in New York courts.
• Research laws and prepare legal briefs and opinions.
• Render opinions on liability and damages.
• Prepare and handle pleadings and motions.
• Conduct depositions and examinations before trial.
• Defend matters assigned by trial or hearing.
• 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience required.
• Must hold a Juris Doctor degree and be admitted to the New York Bar.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements

• Experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury.
• Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in New York.
• Ability to travel for trials and hearings as needed.
• Must document files clearly and professionally.
• Ability to follow complex instructions.
• Preferred experience in civil litigation.
• Ability to communicate professionally in all formats.
