CAD Drafter/Design Drafter Level II - Remote

Overview

The Design Drafter Level II creates accurate plans, detailed drawings, diagrams, animations, and schematics from sketches, notes, or specifications using SolidWorks or other CAD software. This role supports engineers and managers by preparing equipment layouts, 3D models, assemblies, and BOMs, while ensuring proper documentation, revisions, and database updates.

• Develop and produce detailed design drawings and specifications using SolidWorks/CAD.
• Review and analyze sketches and specifications to create accurate layouts.
• Modify and revise designs to address deficiencies and incorporate updates.
• Perform thermal, structural, and environmental analyses using FEA tools.
• Maintain organized drawing databases and ensure document control.
• Collaborate with engineers and team members to finalize designs.
• Prepare technical documentation, including operation manuals and assembly instructions.
• Ensure designs are completed on schedule.

Requirements

• High school diploma, associate/bachelor’s degree, or certificate in Mechanical Drafting.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design and drafting standards.
• Proficient in SolidWorks 2D/3D modeling and drafting.
• Experience with ECOs/PCNs, BOMs, and high-volume manufacturing.
• Basic understanding of stress/pressure analysis and hydraulic systems.
• Skilled in MS Office with good technical proficiency.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, able to interact professionally across teams.
• Demonstrates initiative and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
