Overview

The Insurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring all appointments and procedures are authorized, verifying insurance coverage, and minimizing reimbursement errors.

• Contact insurance carriers to verify coverage and benefits.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous insurance authorization experience preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and coding.
• General knowledge of time of service collection procedures.
• Minimum typing speed of 25 words per minute.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment.
• Clarity of hearing and speaking for telephone communication.
