Director of Technical Accounting and Policy - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a Director of Accounting Policy & External Reporting to lead the development and oversight of accounting policies across a high-growth, multi-entity, private equity-backed healthtech platform.

In Short

• Lead the development and oversight of accounting policies.
• Ensure accurate and compliant external financial reporting.
• Act as a technical accounting expert for complex areas.
• Monitor regulatory developments and lead adoption of new standards.
• Own the preparation of quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc external financial reports.
• Lead external audit processes and manage relationships with auditors.
• Support IPO readiness and capital market initiatives.
• Train and mentor finance teams on accounting policies.
• Work collaboratively with Legal, Sales, and Product teams.
• Drive transparency, rigor, and scalability in accounting practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
• 10–15 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP and ASC 606.
• Experience with business combinations and multi-entity environments.
• Exceptional technical writing and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Big 4 or Tier 2 public accounting background preferred.
• Track record supporting IPO readiness or SEC filings.
• Ability to implement new accounting standards across teams.
