Overview

The Platform Engineer will ensure the operational reliability of Smarsh’s core Enterprise Platform Datastore technologies, focusing on MongoDB and other Datastore platforms.

In Short

• Support systems and infrastructure for Datastore clusters.
• Design and maintain scalable MongoDB clusters.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues.
• Automate workflows related to MongoDB and other Datastores.
• Integrate MongoDB in cloud-native and on-prem environments.
• Optimize MongoDB resource utilization for performance.
• Ensure security best practices for Datastore installations.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and team standups.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams on database architecture.
• Develop automation tools and scripts for database operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with MongoDB installations and configurations.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS.
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and git-ops.
• Experience with Linux distributions.
• Knowledge of observability tools like Datadog or Prometheus.
• Experience with containerized solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with other NoSQL and relational databases.
