Fractional CFO - Remote

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fractional CFO to ensure the financial integrity, accuracy, and compliance of two distinct but growing business entities in sustainable agriculture and the cannabis industry.

In Short

• This is a part-time (15-20 hours per week), remote position.
• Responsible for overseeing financial operations including budgeting and forecasting.
• Lead financial planning and analysis for both entities.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and cannabis industry regulations.
• Manage payroll processing and compliance across both companies.
• Evaluate and optimize financial systems for accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop financial policies and internal controls.
• Work closely with the CEO to set strategic priorities.
• Maintain audit readiness and mitigate financial risks.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
• 8+ years of executive leadership experience in financial oversight.
• Proven experience managing balance sheets and P&L.
• Deep understanding of GAAP and financial statement construction.
• Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, and financial modeling.
• Experience with multi-state payroll compliance.
• Experience in production environments, especially cannabis/agriculture.
