Accounting Department Manager - Remote

Overview

Silver Lion Farms is looking for an experienced leader to join our team as our Department Manager, Accounting. This is a full-time, remote position based in the Pacific Time Zone.

In Short

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close process.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and industry-specific regulations.
• Develop and maintain financial policies and internal controls.
• Provide financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Oversee payroll processing and compliance.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for tax filings and audits.
• Recommend and implement process improvements.
• Lead the company’s annual insurance renewals.
• Strong communication and leadership skills required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in a senior-level accounting role.
• 4+ years of experience managing an accounting team.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and COGS.
• Cannabis industry accounting experience is a plus.
• Expert in QuickBooks and Excel.
• Must live in Pacific, Mountain or Central time zone.
• Ability to construct three financial statements.
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
