Senior Backend Engineer (Python) - Remote

Overview

In Short

• Design, build, and maintain APIs and services that integrate with banking partners, crypto wallets, and RTP systems.
• Ensure zero-downtime deployments and real-time monitoring/alerting for transaction failures.
• Lead scalability efforts for payment processing systems.
• Conduct rigorous load testing and chaos engineering.
• Collaborate with security teams to enforce financial-grade authentication and encryption.
• Architect and maintain error tracking configurations to monitor system performance.
• Lead post-mortems for production incidents to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
• Define and monitor key error budgets with actionable alerts.
• Collaborate with DevOps to integrate incident management tools for real-time escalation.
• Work with a team that has shipped production-grade fintech systems.

Requirements

• 7+ years of BackEnd development with Python and SQL.
• Strong expertise in designing RESTful APIs for high-traffic systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud architectures, preferably AWS.
• Proven ability to build async task processing for real-time payment transactions.
• Good DevOps practices including CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with observability-driven development.
• Hands-on experience with error tracking tools like Sentry.
• Familiarity with performance profiling in high-throughput systems.
• Experience with financial-grade uptime and disaster recovery.
• Familiarity with payment rails or blockchain is a plus.
