Lead Designer - Remote

Overview

The Lead Designer at Side (formally known as Ghostpunch Games) is responsible for understanding the project vision and helping to realize that vision by creating and implementing specific game features.

In Short

• Lead collaboration with Design, Engineering, Art, Animation, QA, and Audio team members to create functional, fun and visually compelling worlds.
• Work closely with and mentor members of design and engineering to support gameplay needs.
• Take ownership of gameplay actor creation, level scripting, and multiplayer support.
• Integrate polished feedback into gameplay systems through art, VFX, and audio.
• Contribute innovative ideas on all aspects of game production and development.

Requirements

• At least 5+ years of professional experience as a multidisciplinary senior designer.
• Significant experience in Unreal Engine 4/5; Unity is a plus.
• Thorough knowledge of UE4 Blueprints.
• Familiarity with C++, C#, Lua, or Javascript.
• Experience with native C++ code and debugging using Visual Studio.
• Knowledge of UE4 tools like Animation Blueprints and Behavior Tree.
• Good problem-solving ability with a focus on rapid iteration.
• Effective communicator and collaborator with engineers and developers.
• Strong passion for video game development.
• Updated portfolio with samples of work.
