Overview

The Trauma Registrar plays a vital role in maintaining and analyzing trauma patient data at an ACS verified trauma center, ensuring accurate registry data for quality improvement and research purposes.

In Short

• Maintain the Collector Trauma Registry database for trauma patients.
• Collaborate with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Manager.
• Collect and analyze trauma-related data.
• Ensure compliance with Level 1 Trauma Center Designation criteria.
• Participate in data validation and reporting for research and quality improvement.
• Complete required trauma registry courses within the first year.
• Utilize medical coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10) for data entry.

• Participate in multidisciplinary trauma performance improvement programs.

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited Health Information Technology program or equivalent experience.
• Minimum one year of experience in health information management.
• Familiarity with trauma registry/database systems is preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changes.
• Physical ability to perform data entry tasks.
• Completion of AAAM coding and ATS Trauma Registry courses within one year.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is desirable.
• Must meet data accuracy requirements.
