Overview

The CDI Educator plays a crucial role in assisting the CDI team to meet revenue, quality, and productivity goals by providing education and conducting quality audits to ensure compliance with standards.

• Assist CDI team in achieving quality and productivity goals.
• Conduct regular quality audits within the CDI Specialists group.
• Plan and implement clinical documentation education programs.
• Provide ongoing education on documentation guidelines and regulations.
• Mentor and educate CDI Specialists team.
• Analyze data to identify education needs.
• Promote compliance with CMS and Medicare documentation.
• Facilitate quarterly quality assurance audits.
• Act as a super user for CDI-related EHR systems.
• Communicate with various healthcare staff and leadership.

Requirements

• Graduate of HIT or equivalent with RHIT/RHIA or equivalent experience.
• Must have CDIP or CCDS within one year of hire.
• Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management or Nursing.
• Previous supervisory or project management experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of healthcare compliance and auditing techniques.
• Ability to mentor, educate, and train others.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in office software programs.
• Ability to handle high-stress situations calmly.
