Overview

The General Counsel at Sentient will manage legal matters, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

In Short

• Work closely with the business on legal matters, especially corporate and product questions.
• Draft and negotiate bespoke agreements for Sentient products and collaborations.
• Provide legal guidance on product development, compliance, and corporate governance.
• Develop and drive legal contracting processes and workflows.
• Manage outside counsel efficiently on high-profile projects.
• Ensure legal compliance in multiple jurisdictions.
• Implement policies and manage record retention.
• Support commercial and financial agreements.

Requirements

• J.D. degree and admission to at least one state bar.
• 4-8 years of experience at a law firm or in-house.
• Superior negotiation and drafting skills.
• Strong skills in managing compliance across regions.
• Excellent academic credentials and references.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with teams and stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
• M&A background is a plus.
• Understanding of open source AI is a plus.
