Senior Software Engineer, Front-end (Digital Products – Servicing & Repairs) - Remote

Overview

As the Senior Software Engineer for Scout Motor’s digital products, you will play a key role in the development and enhancement of our software products, from concept to deployment. Some of the key products as part of digital portfolio are – mobile and desktop applications, vehicle connectivity solutions, mapping services, production, inventory and planning optimization, servicing and repairs, and more. You will work with engineering managers, staff engineers, and cross-functional partners to design the technical underpinnings of the product. At the same time, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to be hands-on building key systems and will be directly responsible for the successful delivery of complex and large-scale technical efforts as well acting as a technical mentor and leader for other engineers.

• Work with engineers & technical leaders across the company to ship interoperable products and systems.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional partners in User Experience and Product Management.
• Assess and recommend key tools and technology decisions.
• Implement best practices and standards for software development.
• Mentor and coach junior team members.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years in software development with a focus on payments, ecommerce, front-end app development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• 8+ years of experience with JavaScript frameworks like React.js, Angular, or Vue.js.
• 8+ years of experience building responsive web designs using CSS frameworks.
• Understanding of GraphQL, RESTful, and RPC principles.
• Awareness of common security vulnerabilities in web applications.
• Experience operating in start-up settings.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
