IT | OT Engineer - Remote

Overview

Join us in preparing and bringing our new modern location to life. We are looking for an IT | OT Engineer at our Freiburg location, Sartorius CellGenix GmbH. In this role, you will support project management and provide technical assistance to ensure that equipment and systems are designed and function optimally to meet production and IT/OT security requirements.

In Short

• Integrate IT and OT strategies and support process automation implementation.
• Responsible for maintenance and management of control systems (SCADA, DCS, PLC).
• Project management and coordination with suppliers to ensure safety standards compliance.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and system diagrams.
• Implement and monitor safety measures for IT and OT systems.
• Train and develop local staff in IT/OT applications and safety measures.
• Create metrics and reporting mechanisms to monitor system performance.
• Work in a hybrid model, both remote and onsite.

Requirements

• University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, Mechatronics, or similar qualifications.
• Several years of experience in IT/OT infrastructure with industrial control systems applications.
• Strong knowledge of process automation and industrial networks.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 62443).
• Experience with safety protocols and operational safety systems.
• Fluent in German and very good English.
• Proficient in technical programs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
