Overview

The Product Development Manager is responsible for managing the development and production of SanMar products, leading the process from initial concept to commercialized product.

• Lead and drive the product development process from design to commercialized product.
• Develop fabric, trims, and styles with suppliers.
• Research emerging material and style trends.
• Work closely with Technical Design for efficient fit processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product development.
• Understand key cost drivers affecting product development.
• Execute seasonal development calendars to meet deadlines.
• Manage suppliers and ensure product quality and compliance.
• Establish Global Sourcing Strategies with the Sourcing Team.
• Support social compliance and safety standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• 4-6 years experience in product development.
• Strong background in technical development of bags and soft goods.
• Understanding of garment and textile manufacturing processes.
• Knowledgeable in component costing and raw material options.
• Understanding of international trade agreements and product safety standards.
• Strong communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills with a results-driven mindset.
• Ability to interact effectively with management.
• Strong people skills and professionalism.
