Senior Software Engineer - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a curious and collaborative Senior Software Engineer based in Europe or Latin America to join Rootstock Labs during an exciting time of growth.

In Short

• Join the core development team behind the Rootstock client.
• Focus on Java-based development with occasional Solidity scripting.
• Design and implement features adhering to best practices.
• Collaborate on peer reviews and continuously improve code quality.
• Write simple Smart Contracts to validate features.
• Share research findings with global peers.
• Update and expand GitHub actions scripts.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with experienced blockchain engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Java or JVM-based languages.
• Experience with core blockchain components.
• Understanding of Ethereum or Bitcoin architecture.
• Ability to reason about security and performance in distributed systems.
• Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable code.
• Strong grasp of data structures and their use in system design.
• Experience with Solidity scripting.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation scripting.
• Excellent team player with clear communication skills.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
